Fox 5 Appearance

I was on Fox5 Good Day Atlanta as Chef Dan Martinez, aka Chef D.Mart, in August of 2023. I was on TV to share my success in writing my first cookbook, "10 Tacos y Mas." My excitement to share my culinary skills was unbelievable. I cooked for three days straight to show a lot of food on TV, but the anchor only ate 1x Taco on air! The crew was another story; feeding the team at Fox 5 Atlanta was a special moment. When I discuss my book, it does not compete with the traditional Mexican Taco but has a fun, different Taco. When I had leftover Brisket (over the last 10+ years), I put it in a taco, typically with cheese. Then, one day, I said the Brisket was so intense I needed to contrast the deep smoky Brisket with Avocado Crema. Another tradition I like to share is rolling fresh flour tortillas (my favorite). For the first couple of tortillas, I swipe real butter and sprinkle good salt, i.e., Fleur de sel, considering this a taco, as you fold it up and devour! As a chef, I like to show a style, an appreciation for sometimes simple and sometimes complex; as in my book, one recipe takes 30 minutes, and another takes 10 hours. Fox 5 Good Day Atlanta allowed me to share my passion for cooking delicious food and have people smile surprisedly, saying, "Wow, that is great!" My tacos are a statement to have fun with different combinations of meat and toppings. You may like the Pineapple-Mango Salsa and want that on your fish taco. Now you have some taco options!
